What does it involve?
As an intern in the audit department you’ll help with the delivery of audit reviews from the planning stages right the way through to following up on agreed recommendations. Within this process, you could be involved in field work and testing. These reviews are aimed at providing the EDF Energy Board Audit Committee with assurance over areas such as compliance to law, rules, policies or standards, Risk Management and Governance Processes.
The department has four audit teams; Nuclear Activities and Thermal Generation, Energy Supply and Renewable Activities, Corporate and Steering Functions or Optimisation and Trading; reflecting the diverse nature of our business and each requiring different skills to support. We’ll work with you to identify which team your skill set most closely matches.
Who is it for?
Internal Audit is an “all risks” function. Which makes this summer internship suitable for those studying a range of business and engineering disciplines. But we’re only interested in candidates who are keen to take ownership of their experience on the internship. We’re eager for you to achieve a great deal – and we want to see that eagerness reflected in you.
Where is it based?
As part of our UK Internal Audit team, you’ll be based at one of three locations: our Head Office in London; Barnwood in Gloucestershire; or East Kilbride, near Glasgow. It’s likely that there’ll also be some travelling involved.
