What does it involve?
Our Human Factors team provides authoritative technical advice to the Company's power stations and corporate functions on key safety and commercial issues, to make sure Human Factors issues are assessed and addressed in plant operations, safety cases and plant modifications.
During your placement, you’re likely to work alongside a Human Factors Engineer on a single project. This will give a real insight into the complete process throughout the project. You’ll discover how we identify and apply the appropriate HF methodologies, standards and guidelines while developing task analysis, time-lines, and human reliability assessments. You may also have the chance to review a Human Machine Interfaces currently being modified or designed.
Who is it for?
You needn’t be an expert in Human Factors already, but you will need a good base understanding from your Ergonomics studies. Every bit as important is a genuine interest in the role of Human Factors within the nuclear sector. We’re eager for you to achieve a great deal while you’re here – and we want to see that eagerness reflected in you.
Where is it based?
The Human Factors Team is based at Barnwood in Gloucestershire. So, during your time on placement, that’s where you’ll be based too.
