As Britain’s largest producer of low carbon electricity, EDF Energy wants to lead the energy change, and is working with governments, transport providers, business, attractions and institutions to create a city and a country that’s healthier and more enjoyable for visitors and residents alike.

London Eye

The EDF Energy vision of London starts with The London Eye itself. The iconic attraction is part of the Mayor’s Green500 scheme, which aims to reduce the capitals C02 emissions. And now it is powered by EDF Energy.

London 2012

EDF is the first official sustainability partner of London 2012. The Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 are Britain’s showcase to the world, and EDF Energy will supply the Olympic Park during the Games and use our involvement to inspire future low carbon innovations.

Electric Cars

Electric vehicles have a great role to play in improving city life. The Mayor's office reports that they could be responsible for up to 40% less carbon emissions than some petrol cars. To support them in making London’s air cleaner, EDF Energy recharging points will be placed in and around Olympic Venues and key London boroughs as part of the Olympic legacy.

Team Green Britain

EDF Energy founded Team Green Britain, a growing movement of nearly a million people across Britain doing their bit to reduce Britain’s Carbon footprint. Inspired by the Olympic spirit, Team Green Britain aims to bring people together across the country to tackle climate change. By working together as a team, we can achieve so much more.
