To meet our legal and moral obligations, it is our policy to:

- uses the data above to set annually reviewed objectives and targets with action plans

- efficient material and energy usage

- waste reduction
- using more efficient appliances, equipment, techniques and applications
- introduce initiatives to reduce our CO2, SO2, NOx and other greenhouse gas emissions
- encourage the use and development of more renewable and efficient sources of energy conversion
- contribute to health-related studies and research on links between electrical energy, the environment and health
- monitor and externally report on our environmental performance in an open, balanced and factual manner
- use our experience and knowledge to influence the UK legislative and consultative process and assist EDF Group’s influence in the international and global debate
- consult with customers, regulators, authorities, environmental agencies, employees and other stakeholders with an interest in the environment
- ensure that our stakeholders' and customers' needs and expectations are met
- encourage our employees to be involved in environmental matters through communication, training, working techniques and environmental projects
- ensure our on-site contractors apply standards aligned with our own
