Understanding how procurement is undertaken

The majority of the procurement activity for both Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C will be undertaken through EDF's CNEN and CNEPE teams in France with UK input and support from the project team in the UK. The teams will be working alongside other consultants including SEPTEN, CEIDRE and CIDEN.

The holding company responsible for the development of the project at Hinkley Point C is Nuclear New Build Generation Company Ltd, a company co-owned by EDF Energy (80%) and Centrica (20%).

NNB Generation Co has appointed EDF DIN as the EPC Contractor for the design and delivery of the projects: EDF DIN also operates as the Architect Engineer (AE) through its offices in the UK and France.

Tier 1 contracts

Not all procurement will be undertaken directly by EDF Energy. There will be a number of Tier 1 contracts that will cover civil and building works; mechanical, electrical HVAC and Instrumentation and Controls installation; specialist services such as the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS); and supply of mechanical and electrical equipment items.

A number of these contracts have already been awarded, so please note that when you register your interest, your capabilities will be made available to EDF Energy and interested Tier 1 contractors.
