Understanding our procurement strategy
Selected businesses will need to ensure that safety is paramount in everything they do and that work is of a high quality to deliver this ambitious project on time and on budget.
Safety covers:
- Nuclear safety, and
- Industrial and environmental safety.
Both are key considerations in the selection of supply chain participants.
We will also be looking to achieve zero harm, as well as delivering our sustainability and environmental aspirations. Cost and the socio-economic benefits of the development will also be taken into account in any assessment.
In summary, the primary aims of the procurement and contracting strategy will be to:
- Ensure services/equipment/materials/construction are safely provided to the required quality, on time, within the allocated budget, taking into account the long-term operation of the plant
- Deliver best value
- Provide a transparent approach with clear roles, accountabilities and decision making.
